Red Mountain Railroad, Mining & Smelting Co. stock number 3553 for 100 shares. Signed by Staley and Graham. Fabulous vignette of a steam locomotive with an ore car in the backgammon. In 1906, the Silverton Railway was reopened from Red Mountain to Ironton, and leased to The Red Mountain Railroad Mining and Smelting Company. This company had started a project to drain the mines in the district. In 1904, work began on the Joker Tunnel, a 4800-foot bore, that went from the level of Red Mountain Creek to the Genessee-Vanderbuilt mine. There were also branches that went to the Guston, Robinson, and Yankee Girl Mines. (Prag collection)
