"Institvtvm Regivm Mancvniense/ (1823)// (bust) B.A. Heywood" on edge struck: Presented to Phidias G. N. Clarke by the Royal Manchester Institution for the best work of art in sculpture July 8, 1847. Beautiful silver medal with convex glass cover. Frosted / satin finish to medal. 51mm. Benjamin Arthur Heywood was a founder of Heywood's Bank in Manchester and a founder of the Royal Manchester Institution (completed 1830), which building is featured on this medal.
