Location of claim "Argentine District" printed right of seal. The district was organized in 1860, but soon miners lost interest in it. In 1864 a revival brought the district to life. In 1860 the area was known as Spring Ravine! (Territorial Enterprise, Mrrch 31, 1860) In 1907 the area would be known as the Jumbo district. #68 for 10 shares issued to George Haskell. Dateline June 20, 1863, Gold Hill. Incorporated May 15, 1863. Signed by president J. Pfoutz and secretary George Swenson. Revenue Stamp covers torn corner. May not be original to this certificate. Sunset over miner bringing out his ore cart load for the day vignette. I/U. Creases. Nicks at fold edges. Swenson was the superintendent of the Michigan Gold and Silver Mining Company at Gold Hill.
