This collection of fifteen pieces tells the story of a gold mine. It includes stocks, promotional materials, and correspondence. The Chronicle Gold Mining Company was located in the Lynx Creek or Walker Mining District in Yavapai County. It was originally a placer mining operation. Now begins the quartz mining efforts. There are nine claims all within four miles of Prescott. A shaft of 65 feet has already been dug and a cross-cut is being made at the 60 foot level. Assay results sow between $7.07 and $52.70 in gold and silver per ton. A telegram in 1906 says, "Another strike in Chronicle yesterday better than ever six feet high grade ore." But all was not well with the company considering some of the correspondence. Fascinating! (Laguna Collection) Date: c1905 Location: Lynx Creek or Walker Mining District, Arizona HWAC# 59472
