"Hudson-Fulton Celebration." The first medal, issued by the Circle of Friends of the Medallion in Manhattan. September 1909. Book and medallion. Foxing on title page. This is the first of the set. The Circle of Friends of the Medallion issued by limited subscription from 1908 to 1915. The purpose was to promote American art and artists. The effort led to the later creation of the Society of Medalists. Medals were issued in books with a brief text. Don Young's Collection includes a complete set of books with their medals.
