Albert Richardson was a war correspondent during the Civil War and reported to the New York Tribune; was arrested as a spy and spent 20 months in Confederate prisons. Only to be shot later on two separate occasions by the same jealous husband. The second time proved fatal in 1869. Our letter here was beautifully written in April,1866 on a Tribune letterhead with his autograph clearly written. He refers to his book as a war time spy for the Tribune. Very good condition. 8.25 in. X 5.25 in. [] [New York] [] [] []
