This forfeiture will result in the merchandise becoming the property of HWAC and the successful bidder shall have no claim to or rights over the forfeited merchandise.
October 28, 1864, Civil War Confederate Document: Furlough granted to Confederate Soldier by "Examining Board Georgia Hospitals,". 4 x 5 3/4 inches, partially printed, additional handwritten information on both sides. Document reads: "Examining Board Georgia Hospitals, Augusta, Ga. Oct. 28th 1864. By order of the Examining Board, I hereby grant a furlough of 60 days to Sargt. C. M. Wall of Co. H 14th Regt. Ga. Vols. Waffard's brigade, Post Office Thompson, Ga. On the 28 day of Dec. 1864, he will report in person to his Captain, or be considered as a Deserter. M. E. Swinney, Senior Surgeon Examining Board." Sgt. Wall's story continues on the back "Transferred from Augusta to Thompson."
