Lot of two documents + envelope. Documents are for safe passage from the Shreveport, La. prison for a Confederate POW. It is an important document for a POW dated June 7th, 1865 being paroled. The second document is dated June 9th, 1865 and is a repatriation document where the recipient must "faithfully support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and all laws made in pursuance thereto." Signed by the Provost Marshall A. Bishop. The original envelope is included. Shreveport Prison was in operation during 1863 only, making this a rare document selection.
