Rare Union Cannon with American Flag. Says THE UNION MUST AND SHALL BE PRESERVED. Postmarked Kansas (before they used Kansas City) Nov. 19, 186-. This is most probably 1861 as the Kansas postmark was changed to Kansas City in 1861. Note on cover says that inside was (not currently) a soldiers letter for Company K of the First Kansas Cavalry.
