Official discharge letter for Private Darius B. Scott, from the 14th Regiment Calvary Illinois Volunteers. Letter indicates he was officially discharged the 13th day of May 1865, by reason of the Surgeon General's Office in Washington, owing to being wounded. The document is signed by Captain J. Hamilton, 3rd US Artillery. Document is folded, with some tears and minor holes, and a bit of minor staining. All hand-written lines are clearly legible. [ Illinois
