Lot of 2. 1) Feb. 5, 1862 Consolidated Morning Report of Brigade at Tennallytown, DC, Commanded by Brig. General JJ Peck. Includes officers and men of the 15th, 95th, and 98th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry and the 55th and 62nd New York Infantry. Signed for Peck by Adjutant Captain William H. Morris. 8.5 x 26" 2) Modern copy of 1862 Tennallytown picture of General JJ Peck and Staff, incl. William Morris (third from right). 5.5 x 7.25" Morris attended West Point and served at Fort Yuma. Along with Charles L. Brown, he invented an improved firearm with a conical cylinder holding 8 cartridges, patented in 1860. He served with Peck's brigade in the Peninsula campaign and the Siege of Yorktown, Battle of Williamsburg, and Battle of Fair Oaks. In 1863, he was promoted to Brigadier General of Volunteers. He was involved at the Battle of Manassas Gap, the Bristoe Campaign, and fought in the Battle of the Wilderness. In 1864, during the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, he was shot and wounded by a sharpshooter. He saw no further battles.
