Lot of 2 different. 1) Diploma issued by the United States Military Academy to John Benson Williams on May 6, 1861. Signed by Alexander Bowman as supt., John Reynolds, as well as other faculty members. 22 x 15" Pen ink is faded. Reynolds was commandant of cadets at West Point. He was killed at Gettysburg. 2) Second document, also issued to Williams, is for a Membership in the Dialectic Society, United State Military Academy. 21 x 15" Signed by James P. Parker as president, who was the roommate of George Armstrong at West Point. Additional biographies included.
