Civil War era letter written to Mr. Horatio Lyman by B. Wood of New York. This letter is dated July 2, 1864. In this letter, Wood talks about standing up for his convictions. He also talks about how Mr. Lyman has some kind of position of power to serve his county, but instead he does nothing. The top left corner of the paper is embossed with a small square that says "Congress/ E. Smith." It is unclear who E. Smith is, but it is probable that the men in this letter have some kind of political power in the United States. This is an interesting letter that requires more research. 8 x 10 inches. Good condition.
