Dateline West Point, Ga., Nov. 9th, 1862. Letter from BJ Adair to his brother. Mentions that he attended a "sale and bought the Negro girl" for $1,113. The family seems to be full of soldiers. He is writing to a brother who is away, he mentions a different brother (Daniel) who "is in Tennisee [sic] under Brag" and he also talks about his own enlistment. "I went to Tenn. and from there to Miss. and was taken sick at (illegible) and like to have died tho I recovered and was discharged..." "Tell me all about the Boys that's in the war, where they are and how they are." 2pp. 8 x 6.25" Folds, heavy toning.
