The first document is from the Ordnance Office to Sergeant C.T. Dibble regarding the return of property of Capt. Samuel Fisk of the 14th Connecticut Infantry having Died on May 22, 1864 from wounds sustained in battle. The letter is dated Jan. 24, 1865. Another document for Ordnance Stores to outfit men from Theodore Ellis to Capt. Samuel Fisk while at Stoney Mountain, Virginia a winter camp dated March, 1864 two months before his death. The 14th Connecticut Infantry saw many battles and sustained some of the worst losses of that war. Capt. Fisk was captured and sent to Libby Prison and later released in a prisoner exchange. From the 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry are two invoices made by J. Frank Miller Captain of Co. "K" 9th Cavalry for clothing and a shelter tent while "in the field" dated Oct. 31, 1863. The Pennsylvania 9th is remembered for joining General Sherman's March-to-the-Sea campaign and being on-hand for the surrender of General Johnston (confederate) at the Bennett Place in North Carolina.
