The company produced gold and silver from properties in Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties. Property included the Lucerne claim in Robinson Gulch, Idaho Springs, Clear Creek County; the Schiller Lode on Mammoth Hill at Gregory, near Black Hawk; and claims in Elk Horn Gulch, Pleasant Valley, 3 miles from Central City. (C&L, 1883) 2) Bates-Hunter Mining Company. "Location of Mines, Central City, Colorado" (printed under title). No. 3598, issued for 500 shares in 1891. Signed by president CE Taylor and secretary Rathvon. Not cancelled. Black border and print on pink paper. Denver Lith. Co. 4.25 x 9.5" Folds, toning. According to E&MJ, May 17th, 1890, the water had been lowered 82 feet. Shaft is 391 feet. Company has signed a contract to drive a cross-cut tunnel from the Daly along the vein to the Bates-Hunter shaft.
