Nice group from this railroad. Includes: Certs # 2112, issued in 1869 and #6134, issued in 1872. Black on creme. Train going under bridge, two workers to the side, both with revenues, I/U; cert. A1736, issued 1885 and C1057 issued in 1886, both signed by John Devereux as president. Devereux was an important midwest railroad executive and was the U.S. Railroad Military Superintendant during the Civil War (coxrail.com). Both with hole cxls. through Devereux's signatures. The bond certificate #1344, was secured by a Railway & Equipment Mortgage. $1,000, 6%, 50 yr. gold bond issued 1884. Also signed by Devereux with hole cxls. affecting his signature. No coupons.
