Four RPCs of the Clifton Miner's Strike of October, 1915. Three are slightly cut down. The Clifton strike came at a time when miners wages were lowered 10 percent at the start of the "European War" when copper was at 13 cents/pound. After the start of the war, copper rose to 18 cents per pound, and the mines at Clifton kept the wages low, which were ten percent lower than the wages at Miami copper mines. 10,000 strikers for the WFM paraded at Clifton, and their protest signs are clearly visible here. One sign points out mine management "McLean, Bennie and Carmichael", who along with other managers fled the camp for Duncan when threatened by WFM strikers. Condition is excellent, unused, with no writing on the backs. Clifton Arizona Salvatore Falcone Collection
