Clifton Iron and Nail Company bond issued April 25, 1870. Company incorporated in State of West Virginia. Parchment, 12" x 9 1/2" bond has spectacular vignette of a river scene with ferry boat, manufacturing company and housing, with ornate border and embossed seal. Signed by President John Hale, Secretary Geo E. Downing, and Treasurer H. H. Swallow. In fine condition with age related staining along slight folds, minor tears on fold edges and four small holes.
