A cloth bag recovered from the S.S. Central America shipwreck. The bag has a bold, black print identification on the face. (illegible - Spring Valley?) 11" x 6". Remnants of a red wax seal, which was originally stitched at the top. We tried in vain to interpret the big bold letters that nearly cover one side of this bag, but the letters are very weak. It appears there is a "Öing Valley" but we can't find a Spring Valley Bank anywhere in 1857.
