Nice set of 4 silver plate coffee and tea service item from the short lived Port Huron and Lake Michigan Railroad. "The second railroad from Port Huron was the Port Huron and Lake Michigan Railroad that reached Flint on December 12, 1871." from sites.rootsweb.com. Top of large pot is engraved "Presented to R C Stewart by the Employees of the P H & L M RR under his charge Dec 25 1872". So this was a Christmas gift to Robert C Stewart, the president of the railroad. Large pot is 11x9", medium pot with lid "S" inscription 10x8.5", small pot with lid "S" inscription 8.75x7". Creamer without lid 1 recessed leg and 1.25" side dent, and S inscription on top, 6x6".
