This is a rare 1860 Comstock incorporation - December 27th. However, it was not issued until September 27, 1872. # 1233 for 35 shares to Charles Reed trustee. Signed by secretary Lightman(?) and president J (?). 25c blue US Revenue stamp. Not cancelled. Allegorical vignette with the word 'WASHOE' written on it. Britton & Co. printer. One small corner fold. No real issues for this excellent cert. The Cole was most noted for striking the water source of the Virginia and Gold Hill water Company at a great depth in 1867. With water gushing into the mine at 1500 gallons per minute, the water company leased the water rights. So this is a mining Utah Territory incorporated company issuing stock well into statehood for a company that was making it smoney of water rights. Go figure!
