Lot of ten items from 1887 to 1888. All addressed to the Anglo Cal Bank. All have the Anglo Cal Bank circular stamp. In 1887 and 1888 the Carson City Mint had been closed as a minting operation. They were given permission to smelt a limited number of silver and gold bars. These were some of those bars they smelted. From the Anglo Cal Bank the bars would have ended up in the San Francisco Mint one would assume. Why the Carson City partially opened mint did not send them to the San Francisco Mint???? Bars range from one bar at $1,380 to three bars at $990 to one bar at $38. (Potter Collection) State: Nevada City: Carson City Date: 1887 HWAC# 56040
