Lot of 2 different from the Homestake Collection. According to a Jan. 4, 1902 Lead Daily Call article, the company acquired 200 acres on the west flank of Bald Mountain and were planning on erecting a cyanide mill. Their mine properties were 4 miles from the Homestake and were "contiguous to and almost surrounded by the Bald Mountain, Ragged Top and Squaw Creek mines." Their claims consisted of numerous lodes including the Funston, Frost, Little Eva, Buffalo, Link Fraction, May, and others. This must have been a tightly held company. Stock number 1, included in this lot, is signed but not issued. The first issued stock present was #19, also in this lot. Both are signed by Charles Giddings as president and a different Giddings as secretary. Brown border, gold seal, and three mining vignettes. No. 19 is issued in 1901 to Charles Krause for 4,000 shares. Wrinkles, soiling, portion of upper left missing. 9.5 x 12"
