Lot of 5 stocks issued 1901-1905 for huge amounts totaling 1,000,000 shares, likely control of the company. 1901 cert. for 600,000 shares to company secretary Giddings; 1902 for 200,000 shares to Giddings; 1905 for 66,667, 66,666, and 66,667 shares. Giddings is now president on two of the 1905 stocks. The last is issued to new president James C. Moody. All same style: brown border, gold seal, and three mining vignettes. Folds, creases, soiling. See photos. According to a Jan. 4, 1902 Lead Daily Call article, the company acquired 200 acres on the west flank of Bald Mountain and were planning on erecting a cyanide mill. Their mine properties were 4 miles from the Homestake and were "contiguous to and almost surrounded by the Bald Mountain, Ragged Top and Squaw Creek mines." Their claims consisted of numerous lodes including the Funston, Frost, Little Eva, Buffalo, Link Fraction, May, and others. This must have been a tightly held company.
