$1,000 Specimen bond, 1904. Orange border, black print, and vignette of railroad workers with locomotive in the background. Printed by ABN. 14.5 x 10" Two full pages of coupons. Folds, some toning, and a few tears. This scenic and mining line ran the "Switzerland Trail of America" from Boulder to Ward. The Greeley, Salt Lake & Pacific Railroad had run from Boulder to Penn Gulch, but most of their bridges were wiped out in the flood of 1894. This company rebuilt the line, extending the service to include the mines of Ward (celebrated in Ward with dynamite explosions). The line was extended to Eldora in 1904. In 1909, this line was replaced by the Denver, Boulder & Western. City: Boulder State: Colorado Date: 1904
