This is a Colt model 1860 Army complete with an original holster. S/N 63977 with a birthdate of 1862, all numbers matching INCLUDING THE WEDGE! The frame is marked on the left side "Colt's Patent" without the "US" ordinance stamp, however, the grips are marked with the familiar cartouches on both sides of the grip. The grips are original to the gun with a compression circle on the right grip that matched the brass grommet on the holster; they have been together for a very long time. The bore is bright without pitting, the stocks are one piece with inspector cartouches (but barely visible possibly AAB and OWA), one kill mark on the right grip, a sub-inspector mark of "H" behind the trigger loop, and an "I" and "E" carved into the bottom side of the grips by the original owner. The barrel address is single line, the naval scene is still visible on the cylinder as well as the serial numbers. It works but times poorly. The holster is without a US embossing and made specifically for this gun in black leather and brass hardware. If your last name begins with an "E", you need to take this one home.
