This is a first generation Colt Single Action Army revolver, S/N 159597 manufactured in 1895 chambered in .38 W.C.F. The barrel is 4 3/4 in. long on a black powder frame. It is a beautiful combination of highly polished steel, a round edge cylinder with an arbor screw in the frame. The bore has a bright finish in a right-hand twist rifling. No bluing or case-hardening remain replaced with minor age pitting throughout. The gun is numbers matching on the frame, trigger-guard, and back-strap bottom. The loading gate has an assembly number of 261. The gun has a damaged arbor pin screw and has not been disassembled. This is a common occurance on first gen. Colts. The ejector rod has a small half-moon button. The grips are hard rubber with the rampant colt logo with a nick out of the front right edge that has been polished out to be acceptably smooth to the shooter. The overall condition is very good. Timing is perfect. This would make a great collector piece for a Colt factory letter. Please see photos for details. An FFL exchange or C & R license is required. Additional shipping and handling fees apply. This gun is an antique and no attempt has been made to fire this gun to confirm its mechanical integrity. Nor should this gun be fired without the examination by a qualified gunsmith. Any attempt to fire an antique is at the risk of the owner and not consistent with the value of the firearm.
