This Colt Single Action Army is S/N 157792 with a birthdate of 1894. The gun features a 5 1/2 in. barrel on a black powder frame, .32 cal. W.C.F. stamped on the left side of the barrel, black hard rubber checkered grips with the rampant colt logo. The extractor rod has a slant button. The left side of the frame has three patent dates on two lines: "Sept. 19, 1871. July 2, 72. Jan 19, 75." followed by the Colt logo rampant colt in a circle. The bore is crisp with very good rifling, the gun wears a consistent brownish-grey patination throughout with no bluing remaining, the grips are checkered with the softness of many hours of handling. The cylinder is round faced consistent with the black powder era construction and the loading gate is #711. The front blade has been filed lower by about 1/8 in. and the barrel wears the Colt address: "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on one line. The mechanism is in working condition but not tight. A late model holster is included made by H.H. Heiser #414 Denver, Col. in oil tanned leather. This gun is an antique and no attempt has been made to fire this gun to confirm its mechanical integrity. Nor should this gun be fired without the examination by a qualified gunsmith. Any attempt to fire an antique gun is at the risk of the owner and not consistent with the value of the firearm. No sales to New York, New Jersey, California, and Hawaii. This is an antique, non FFL firearm. Overall length is 11 1/2 in. Please see photo for details.
