This is a collection of two sets of collectible spoons made by Joseph Mayer and Brothers of Seattle. The first set of eight (8) souvenir spoons at 5.5 in. in length are hallmarked "M (pick and shovel) B STERLING" indicating manufacture between 1898 and 1944. The Sterling stamp has a recessive letter "S". All are chicken walk engraved COLUMBIA. The second set is of five (5) sugar spoons at 4 in. in length are hallmarked from three different time periods: 3 are marked "M (pick and shovel) B STERLING", one is marked EJT around the pick and shovel (E.J. Towles Co. 1945-1979), and the last one hallmarked of a symbol inside a triangle and "STERLING" presumably Metal Arts about 1985. Are are fine condition silver. See photos for details.
