$500 Bond cert. #13. Issued 1908. The Columbia marble quarry was located 2 1/2 miles north of Columbia, about 800' above the Stanislaus River. It had a 150' wide marble strip. Marble was hauled 7 1/2 miles to Sonora by traction wagon or wagon. A carload was shipped weekly. 800 tons of Columbia marble was used in the Merchants Exchange Building in San Francisco. The pavements and stairways of the Palace Hotel also used Columbia marble (C.S.M.B. Bull. 38, 1906). Star shaped hole cxls throught bond and coupons. Twenty five coupons attached. VF.
