This is a collection of ribbons from a number of fraternal organisations that were benevolent after the Civil War. Some are no longer in existence; some with surprising enrollment standards. They are: the DOKK, the Dramatic Order of the Knights of Khorasson an branch of the Knights of Pythias; the JR. OUAM; the Junior Order of Union American Mechanics originally called the Union of Workers aimed at subverting immigrant prosperity in American; the "Last Parade" of the Battle of Flags of Ohio (for participating in ) the Mexican War, Civil War, and the Spanish War dated April 26, 1916; DOA the Daughters of America in Portsmouth, Ohio 1914 their intentions were shielding the country from "unrestricted immigration"; the IOGT the International Organisation of Good Templars in the USA; and the 400th Anniversary Celebrating the discovery of America by Columbus 1492-1892. Many of these organisations were benevolent after the Civil War because there was no relief for people of misfortune. Several other organisations are present for your examination. Most ribbons are in need of restoration or stabilizing. Provenance is from the J.M. Davis Arms Museum.
