Two 1909 passes, one unissued, the other issued to WW Fulmer, Purchasing Agent for Wells Fargo. Pink cardstock. The Compania Mexicana de Express, S.A. was established around late 1909 as a joint venture between Wells Fargo and the Mexican postal authority, replacing the "Wells Fargo y Cia." branding on freight and express mail services in Mexico. During the transition period, Wells Fargo-branded envelopes and postcards were manually updated with "Compania Mexicana de Express, S.A." handstamps. However, the company had a very short-lived operation-its express services wound down with railroad nationalization and the upheaval of the Mexican Revolution, and Wells Fargo eventually reverted to operating under its own name in Mexico.
