Rare. Incorporated under the laws of the State of Colorado, 1880. #561. Stamp cancelled. Issued for 300 shares to Jas. H Billington on Feb. 19th, 1881. Signed by Chas. W. Selser as president and W.D. Huntley as secretary. Rectangular vignettes of miners working on left and right. Central vignette of two horses with "Virtue, Liberty, and Independence" written beneath. Railroad bridge and sailboats on either side. Black ink on crème paper with fancy border and company seal bottom left. Reverse is endorsed by Billington. Printers: Wm. Mann, 529 Market St., Philadelphia. The company owned one claim, located in 1879 and patented in 1882, covering 3 ½ acres on Fryer Hill. It adjoined the Robert E. Lee mine, California District. Same officers as Dauntless Mining Co. [ref: Colorado Mining Directory, Corregan and Lingane, pg. 406] Condition: fold lines, a few small nicks and toning around the edges and one hole punched upper left.
