Lot of 9 stock account receipts, issued by Homer S. King & Co., as well as 18 from Latham & King. Both firms based in San Francisco. All are handwritten on company stationery and date from 1877-1892. There are a few folds but over all, they are in very good condition.
The collection also includes a stock assessment receipt of 2,000 shares of Navajo Mining Company received by Latham & King, dated 24 June 1878. Some folds, but sharp and in good condition. A stock receipt from Rehfisch & Company handwritten on 8.50” x 11” East Hartford Linen Paper and made issued to The Bullion & Exchange Bank of Carson, Nevada.
Six Western Union Telegrams sent by Horace King confirming stock transactions for various clients. Also included in the collection are 14 stock transaction statements, with 8 issued by Homer S. King & Company, one from Latham & King, one from Jones & Norwood, one from I. Glazier 7 Co. and three from Zadig, Wollberg & Co. all have very sharp folds, but are in very good condition.
A letter addressed to R. Hofer Cooke of Carson City, from Homer S. King & Company, advises Mr. Cooke that, “on account of Mr. King’s continued ill health, he has decided to retire and that Cooke should transfer his account “to some other firm as we wish to close as soon as possible.”
Another letter, this one from the office of Jones & Norwood, informs client T.R Hofer that his telegram failed to arrive in time and therefore, the stock buy he requested could not take place.
“We are sorry we could not have done better and can assure you of our earnest endeavor to give you satisfaction in all cases.”
Both letters are written on linen stock, have small holes and fold. Over all condition is good.
