Lot of 3. 1) CDV of Price in uniform. No photographer identified. 2) Mounted cabinet card sized photograph of a painting of Price on horseback in a battle. 5.25 x 4" 3) May-June 2017 issue of the Confederate Veteran magazine featuring the same painting of Price as the cover art and an article on Price by CE Avery. Sterling Price (1809-1867) was a Missouri farmer who became a Congressman from 1844-46. After serving as a general in the Mexican War, he became the governor of New Mexico Territory and then Missouri (1853-57). During the Civil War, he was commander of the Missouri Militia in 1861, and then general in the Confederate Army in 1862. After the Civil War, he was a rancher in Mexico (1865-66).
