This is a saber hanger from a Confederate soldier captured by Captain John Dorington of the 110th regiment Pennsylvania Militia. Originally with a belt and the great seal of South Carolina. Provenance is from the Los Angeles County Museum. Only partial leather remains. c. 1865.
