Inc. in New York. No. 1713, issued for 100 shares to FA Artault in 1869. Signed by vice president CP Peck and secretary H. Harington. Not cancelled. Two 25 cent adhesive revenue stamps. Folds, pinholes, library stamp on reverse. 8 x 10" John H Gregory was the discoverer of the Gregory diggins. Ownership passed hands until the Consolidated Gregory took over in 1864. They paid $1,000 a foot and gave heavy stock options to the company they bought it from. In 1865, work was begun cutting down trees, timbering a work shaft, putting in a pump and opening levels for a stope. [Hollister, 1867]
