Lot of 3. All 3 are the same form, Bank of California, blue print, and RN-D imprinted revenue. The Consolidated (Virginia) Mill was a large reduction mill owned by the Pacific Mill & Mining Co. (Mackay, Fair, Flood, & O'Brien) and located near the Virginia & Truckee Railroad yard. It had 60 stamps, 40 pans, 20 settlers, and 4 agitators. It was destroyed by the Oct. 1875 VC fire and rebuilt (Ansari). 1) No. 605, issued to DW Klein in 1875. Signed by John Mackay. Folds, soiling. 2) No. 562, issued in 1875 to Wm. Smith. Signed by James G. Fair. Soiling. 3) Unissued example.
