This is a fabulous express cover. The express only ran for about a year. Red Miner's Express oval top left and blue Marysville Oct. 1 circle bottom left. 10c green and white entire U17. The ovals struck in blue are known only on incoming mail. BOLD rectangular grid cancel. This express was between Marysville running north to the Slate Creek Basin mining camps briefly operating 1855-56 by Jack Copley. This included but may not have been limited to Gibsonville, Saint Louis and Warren Hill, California connecting with the U.S. mail at Marysville for outgoing letters and with Wells Fargo for express items.
