Copper quarterback trophy mounted on brass footing. The base is 4.25 x 6.75". Overall height, about 11". The style of helmet is modeled after the old 1930s leather helmet. There is no engraving on the base, nor any number on the player's jersey. A search of other early football trophies shows several quite similar for other positions, particularly offensive positions such as running backs, but we could not find a quarterback. The overall detail and appearance is quite good. This piece has a partially broken throwing arm wrist crack and the feet have pins that were used to hold the statue in place on the base which need to be resoldered, an easy task. The list of great quarterbacks from the 1930s is big, perhaps starting with Bob Monnett, Keith Molesworth, and Arnie Herber.
