James Dahl / 101 (incuse) / Copper Canyon. // blank. Brass, round, 36mm. In his 1941 obituary, Dahl is described as the discover of gold placers at Copper Canyon, located near Battle Mountain, between 1910-15. A 1915 article in the Salt Lake Mining Review says Dahl had 40 men employed working his claims. It's believed he extracted half a million dollars. This is likely a mine tag.
