Company was assuredly a consolidation of the Coral and Aspinwall mines and/or ledges. Inc. in #361No 141, issued for 50 shares to George Peirce trustee. of Dover, NH on August 1st, 1865. Signed by vice-president R. Peterson and secretary Chas. Dougherty. Not cancelled. Fancy black border and title. No vignette. Printer covered by 25 cent adhesive revenue stamp, pen cancelled. 4 x 8.75" Pinholes, folds, light toning. Not in Filer. According to American Mining Gazette and Geological Magazine, Volume 2, Issue 1, (1865), "Professor Silliman expresses a favorable opinion of its resources." The Amador Mining District was 6 miles north of Austin around New York Canyon and later incorporated into the Reese River district. [Ref: Mining Districts of Nevada, Tingley] Having been incorporated in New York and the date being early 1860's one thinks of the Panama Steamship Company when one thinks of Aspinwall. Austin Nevada
