Lot of 2. Real Photo Postcards. Pre-split RPC's of Coram Depot on Sacramento River and its' first school house w/student group picture. One postmark : Coram Cal. 1907. Town established by Balaklala Mine and Smelter CO. 1906. Incorporated town in 1910 and dis-incorporated in 1918. Named after Joseph Coram owner of the co. located in Shasta County. Once had 2000 residents, 23 saloons and gambling halls, 2 butcher shops, 3 hotels and several variety stores. Destroyed by fire in 1924 the remaining smelter chimney was dynamited in 1926 and in 1930 the town became a stockyard for the building materials for the Shasta Dam.
