# 1432 for 5 shares to the Arnold Brothers. Signed by DO Chambers and vice president Jerome Rice. Dateline San Francisco 1876. Incorporated August 2, 1860. Not cancelled. Mountain farming and mining vignette. Britton & Co printer. Location: Coso District, Tulare County. Large stains bottom left and top left. Bottom has issues. Corners rounded. Very good condition. From the San Francisco Evening Bulletin October 17, 1861 we get; The Coso Silver Mining Co. is the pioneer company of this section. It has been “quietly but effectively prospecting” its 7 lodes. The company has arranged to build a 35-horsepower, 12-stamp quartz mill, the first in the district. The plant has arrived on the eastern slope. In the 1870's there was a revival in the district. Our certificate shows this was the company incorporated in 1860, but is more closely related to the revival in the 1870's.
