Pass no. 226, issued for the year 1877 to Geo. H. Griggs on the Conn. Valley Railroad. Signed by supt. Mattles(?). Fancy design with black print and orange underprint. Very good condition. This Nebraska railroad opened in 1876 and was possibly the only narrow gauge revenue railroad in Nebraska. The line ran on 26 miles from Covington to Ponca. In 1879 it merged to become part of the Sioux City and Nebraska Railroad.
