Crescent Firearms Company collaborated with H.D. Folsom Co. of New York to import single barrel shotguns called ‘Hardware Guns’. There were at least 100 different trade names used between 1890 and 1930. This one is marked ‘BLUE WHISTLER’. Interesting to note this arm has the military inspector R.A.C. on both sides of the receiver and the buttstock. This stands for Renaldo A. Carr, who was a military firearms inspector around the turn of the last century. The military, especially mounted troops, would usually carry a small gauge shotgun for foraging if they were running low on food. This piece is being sold as a parts project and has more value to a military arms collector than a general arms collector. Condition is poor. Black powder relic. State: City: Date: FHWAC#: 42736
