Commemorative medal struck in honor of the city’s celebration commemorating the end of the Crimean War. Signed V & G by Achille Vachon and Marc Giron, designers and engravers of the famed San Francisco Committee of Vigilance Medal. On the obverse, the British lion on shoreline, trampling Russian flag; cannon and arms below; ship to left in distance. On the reverse, a fasces with the flags of the Ottoman Empire and France to left, flags of Great Britain and Kingdom of Sardinia to right; below, the French eagle grasps the Imperial Russian Coat-of-arms with its claws.
