Cripple Creek District: Legend, Title Map, Showing Deviation of Title of Golden Cycle Mining Company (highlighted in red), Theresa Gold mining Company (highlighted in red), and F.G. Logan Tract (highlighted in gold). Davis & Byler Mining Engineers, Victor, Colorado printed on lower left. The engineering firm, located in Victor, was likely in the Victor Hotel, considered “the most modern edifice in the Cripple Creek District.” Additional titles shown include the Keystone M. & M. Co., the Longfellow G. M. Co., the Vindicator Cons. G. M. Co., and Christmas G. M. Co. The district is on the SW flank of Pikes Peak, with gold discovered in 1890. By 1900 nearly 500 mines had been discovered, the towns of Cripple Creek and Victor had been established, and rail service connected the district to the outside world (mininghistoryassociation.org). Coated paper on linen, measures 35 ½” x 43 ¼”. Water stains and several tears repaired by tape on lower left and center. "Cycle Surface" and "Cycle territory" handwritten in pencil on reverse.
