Stock certificate number 106 for 50 shares issued to Walter NP Darrow in 1900. Signed by secretary Moore and president AJ Warner. Some light cut marks on left side of the stock. Slight colorization. The company conducted extensive hydraulic mining operations at Crown Mountain, located just 1/2 mile south of the Dahlonega town square. Gold was associated with quartz stringers in saprolites. Material removed by the hydraulic monitors were carried by flume to a milling plant nearly a mile away. Ore was initially crushed by fifty 1,050 pounds stamps then concentrated on Wifley tables. Finer ore was further treated by two Huntington mills. At the time of this Jones report, no mining operations had been in progression the property for a number of years. [Jones] Not endorsed on the reverse. It is one of only two similar certificates located by Mr. Adams during his decades of collecting. Moore is probably one of the many members of the Moore family who were among the first miners and settlers in the Dahlonega region. The certificate is uncancelled, has a green seal and underprint, with no vignette on the certificate. Not endorsed on the reverse. It is one of only two similar certificates located by Mr. Adams during his decades of collecting. See the Crown Mountain Prospectus for the full story.
